Bookazine Launches Book Subscription Service In Hong Kong

Bookazine – Hong Kong’s leading chain of independent English-language bookshops and, above all, a family-run community bookshop – just launched Bookspoke, a book subscription service that delivers a new book to your doorstep every month! We love Bookazine because it has a strong sense of social responsibility, supporting children’s education and literacy, championing local writing competitions, and generally pioneering projects that encourage reading. We believe their new book subscription service might also make a difference – from allowing kids to regularly anticipate and then enjoy a new addition to their growing library to nudging adults away from their phones and into the ultimately enriching and delicious activity that is settling in with a good book.

Like a human algorithm that has your best interest in mind, Bookazine’s passionate experts curate the selection of books according to your preferences (based on books and authors you love, don’t enjoy, even your Goodreads if you provide the link) and the subscriber’s age. There are 4 plans you can choose from that set the general framework for the selection:

THE BUDDING BOOKWORM (For Ages 2-5)

Includes hardback picture books. Only available for a 6-month subscription plan: $1,200

BeTWEEN (For Ages 8-12)

Includes paperback or hardback of a brand new middle-grade novel. Options: 3 months: $600 / 6 Months: $1,050 / 1 year: $1,800

BOOKS TO DIE FOR (For Crime & Mystery Novel Lovers)

Includes serial and legal thrillers, detective novels, and other riveting, adrenaline-raising sub-genres. Options: 3 months: $650 / 6 Months: $1,200 / 1 year: $2,200

THE PAGE TURNER (For Fiction Enthusiasts)

Includes the crème de la crème of fiction, from the most anticipated books to the most promising debut novels.

All books are nicely wrapped, accompanied with a personalized message (write your own if it’s a gift!), a bookmark, and a form to enter review notes! The two subscription boxes for younger readers include a little surprise, and the two for adults let the subscriber send their book review to be featured on Bookazine’s blog and in-store on shelf-talkers.
