A Family Friendly Hike On Cheung Chau Island
After years of hearing about this famous scenic hike (also could be a run as flat and concrete)), the Little Steps team finally made it on the trail! On exiting the ferry, you can head across Cheung Chau Island and land on the other side (beachside) where you can veer toward the entrance of The Mini Great Wall hike.
What to expect?
- The 4km trail takes about 2 hours to finish and is suitable for all ages (including toddlers). If you want a shorter hike, you can just walk as far as you like and return the same.
- There are portions of the wall that look like a mini version of The Great Wall Of China – bring your camera!
- The hike is well-paved and offers amazing views! You will find pavilions to rest at along the route.
- Check out the 16 stones along the way which are huge and have fun names (the kids can try and spot them). Examples include – Human Head Rock, Fa Peng, and Loaf Rock.

How to get there?
- Take a ferry from Central to Cheung Chau (ferry pier 9)
- Take a right at the ferry pier and then turn left to Tung Wan Road
- You will walk 10 minutes on this road till you reach Tung Yam Wan Beach
- You will walk along Cheung Chau Beach Road for 10-15 minutes toward the Kwun Yam Temple. Once you are past the showers - you will be at the entrance of the Mini Great Wall Hike!
