Created out of one man’s lifelong passion for shells, the Bali Shell Museum is fascinating! Based on 25 years of sheer dedication and collecting shells from around the world, on display is an extraordinary collection of exotic shells, a gigantic whale spine, jaws of various fish, and fossilized shells.

This multi-chambered museum spreads over two floors and is the only one of its’ kind in Indonesia. The Bali Shell Museum is dedicated entirely to shells and mollusks and their importance to the environment. Here, museum-goers will glimpse at rare specimens and gain a better understanding of nature’s shell-encased organisms. Learning aside, the collection is stunning, with an amazing array of shapes, colors, and sizes. It’s a treasure trove of exotic shells and million-year-old fossils, and will provide much fascination and inspiration to pint-sized anthropologists!
