Rawa Island is the perfect getaway for couples, families, and groups. Set in the warm waters of the South China Sea, this little island will help you to relax and unwind. Little ones will have a great time playing on the white sandy beach and splashing in the azure blue sea.
There are four rooms to choose from. The Beach Front is literally on the white sandy shores at the front of the island. Watch the kids splashing around in the warm waters. Hillside Deluxe are set just away from the beach on stilts. The sunset view is quite spectacular! Waterfront Bungalows are perfect for families. Set on the beach, let the kiddos play as you enjoy a chilled drink on the veranda. Frangipani Villas are located at the end of the resort, they are perfect for families looking for a larger, quieter vacation.
The large dining room accommodates all meals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price. On Saturday nights they cook up a BBQ full of fish, satay, and other grilled delights. Meals are buffet style with Western and Asian options. There is a water station, basic tea and coffee making facilities, with fancier drinks available at the bar. Alcohol is available on the island; it’s cheaper than Singapore but still quite pricey. You can bring your own but the will charge corkage.
With a large white sandy beach and azure blue sea, there is plenty to keep the kiddos entertained. Canoes, snorkels, pedalos, and life jackets are all available to rent. Bring buckets and spades, beach games, bats and balls, and everyone will be happy little islanders. For little and big kids, there are two water slides - the orange one can be quite speedy so watch out!
The dive center on Rawa Island has been recently established in collaboration with Orca Scuba, a boutique dive center based in Singapore. They offer a variety of PADI courses and cater to a range of needs and levels of difficulty. New and experienced divers are welcome at the center.
Operated independently by Chirawan (Eternal Beauty) Spa, the spa offers a variety of Thai body and facial massages catering to a wide range of needs. Treatments include aromatherapy massage, Royal Thai massage, Thai Herbal Ball massage, ear candling and cleansing, eye pillow therapy, and foot reflexology.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the island is managed and developed responsibly. Chalets and rooms were built using as much natural and recycled construction materials as possible. All laundry is transported to the mainland to be washed to minimize the use of detergent on the island. They operate a strict waste collection and recycling policy. Rainwater is collected to be used for watering plants
From Singapore, give yourself 4 hours door-to-door to allow for time at immigration. From JB, the drive is about 2 hours however, traffic can be slow. The boat from Mersing takes about 20 minutes. If you miss the boat you will be charged for one to be put on. Out of towners should fly into Singapore, the drive from KL is a lot longer!
