Unique Walk For Kids At MacRitchie TreeTop Walk In Singapore

Birds-Eye View Of Flora & Fauna

Located in the central area of Singapore, just off Thomson, is MacRitchie, a fav among nature lovers and families alike. The highlight of this reservoir park is the TreeTop Walk, a 250 meters suspended walkway that’s 25 meters above ground and offers a breathtaking view above the forest canopy. You can spot different wildlife in their habitat plus enjoy views of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve and also the Upper Peirce Reservoir. There are 2 routes you can take to get to the TreeTop aside from navigating around MacRitchie Reservoir. If you’re driving, park at the Venus Drive carpark which is where Windsor Nature Park is. Alternatively, you can catch a bus and alight at the Flame Tree Park or opposite Flame Tree Park bus stop. From the carpark, you can either follow the signs and take on the hiking trails or simply walk along the road past Singapore Island Country Club and you’ll reach a PUB Building. Then, it’s just a 600-meter trail to the TreeTop Walk!

For those who are up for a little bit more adventure and walking, you might want to check out entering the route from Lornie Road. For those driving, this might be a bit more tricky as you have to park at the main carpark of MacRitchie Reservoir. Those taking the bus, alight at the ‘After SICC’ bus stop, walk all the way down the road against the flow of traffic until you see a little path that leads into the reservoir. We recommend the route from Windsor Nature Park for those with little tikes as it’s slightly shorter. Whatever the case, pack loads of water, some snacks, slather on mozzie repellent, sunblock, and be prepared for an approximately 6-kilometer hike to the TreeTrop Walk and back. We guarantee that once you make it there, you won’t regret it!

The terrain for this trail is undulating with steep slopes at certain points. Do ensure that both you and the kids are suitably attired in proper footwear like track shoes or sneakers. Download the Guide To The TreeTop Walk HERE. **TreeTop Walk is closed for maintenance works from August 11, 2020. Works are expected to complete by May 2021.

Why Little Steps Loves It:

There are lots of green plus wildlife exploration along the many accessible trails to get to the TreeTop Walk. We love how the track to the suspension bridge is both easy for little kids as it is a challenge for the older ones. Young or old alike, this is one nature experience not to be missed!

Who It's Perfect For:

Nature lovers and families who love to spend the day outdoors.

What Else:

We're sure that the kids will be thrilled at the sights of native creatures of the forest like the Clouded Monitor Lizard, Common Sun Skink, Plantain Squirrel, and of course, the Long-tailed Macaque. There have also been sightings of Wild Boars!
