Blue House is a nursery & international preschool that recognizes children as capable, competent, curious and full of potential. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, Blue House children have the opportunity to build on their knowledge based on their own interests and children are offered interactions with real-life experiences that are tangible, meaningful and interactive. There’s a lot to see and learn at Blue House, and words just can’t do this unique school justice. Click here to book a tour and explore its differences first-hand!
Blue House offers a level of flexibility rarely found elsewhere through the different programs it offers at both its Infant and Toddler Atelier and Nursery and International Preschool. Blue House Infant and Toddler Atelier, located alongside the school at Bukit Timah, welcomes children from 6 to 36months of age through various parent and caregiver accompanied indoor and outdoor playgroups, classes and drop-in sessions. Children are provided with interactive, sensory-driven experiences, where they can explore the world around them, build connections and broaden their minds. Blue House Nursery and International Preschool welcomes children from 18 months to 6 years old and parents can choose from 2, 3 and 5 days per week with half or full-day options available. There are also additional optional Discover Classes in Music, Art, and Mandarin run by the in-house specialist educators to further enhance play, imagination and creativity!
There is also a strong community ethos at Blue House and parents are actively invited into the classrooms to share their knowledge and different skill sets. In this way, they work together with the children to help support the development of projects and research. Children can also connect with the wider community through their in-house resident artists and through the pantry cafe space, a special place built by parents, for parents!
It’s not just the approach to early years education and the flexibility of programs that make Blue House different. The environment plays a critical role in the learning process and is often referred to as "the third teacher". The indoor and outdoor spaces at Blue House have been purposefully built to encourage research, encounters, communication, and relationships. Children are actively encouraged to explore the outdoor environments and spontaneously explore the local community through accompanied walks through nature and the playing fields surrounding Blue House.
