Kids are like sponges. They absorb everything and as our children grow, it is important to instill the right values in them that they can carry with them throughout their lives. In Singapore, the migrant community is facing one of the hardest hit in the battle against COVID-19 and this calls to create a more inclusive society in Singapore. Singapore-born arts ensemble, the TENG Ensemble, launches its Triptych Series to help open up this conversation with your children. In the spirit of #SGUnited, this three-part video series aims to spread positivity and spotlight the critical role of migrants in Singapore through music. The works will also bring awareness to the commonalities between ourselves and our migrant counterparts by drawing a common thread to our own ancestors, many of whom were migrants who came to Singapore during its founding years.
The first video of the Triptych series, in collaboration with Tamil music artiste, Shabir, was released on May 27 and available on The TENG Ensemble’s Facebook, YouTube and Instagram platforms. Subsequent videos will be released on May 31 and June 4. There isn’t a better time to encourage our children to show appreciation to the community that has helped Singapore become as successful it is today.
May 27, 31 and June 4, 2020.
