Dive into unexpected exploration at Light to Night Singapore 2024, the marquee event of Singapore Art Week, from January 19 to February 8, 2024. Organized by National Gallery Singapore, supported by Tote Board, National Arts Council, Cultural Matching Fund, and CapitaLand, the festival redefines art and everyday spaces through immersive experiences.

  1. Wings of Change by Kumari Nahappan: An inflatable artwork urging action for sustainability, magnifying the iconic saga seed into a six-meter installation.
  2. Teo Eng Seng: Living the Life by Teo Eng Seng and Milosh Luczynski: A light projection artwork exploring the boundless possibilities and sheer rawness of everyday life.
  3. Temple of Love by Arahmaiani, Wayang Merdeka, and Milosh Luczynski: A light projection work depicting the rejuvenating powers of Mother Nature in collaboration with shadow puppetry.
  4. Winter Sonata, Summer Mookata by Knuckles & Notch: A surreal journey narrating ecological challenges and exploring spiritual consciousness through light projections.

  1. Rapture by Victor Tan: Human figure sculptures symbolizing the transition from the earthly to the spiritual, creating a sense of surrender to the divine.
  2. Symphony of Order by Sarah Choo Jing: A multi-channel installation exploring the intricate interplay of “order” and “unspoken laws” through film.
  3. Wayang Spaceship by Ming Wong: A reimagined Chinese opera stage exploring the evolution of Chinese opera and its relationship with science fiction.
  4. Embroidered Landscapes by SISTRUM: Cityscapes combining vernacular and contemporary art forms inspired by fading Chinese Opera traditions.

Art and Lifestyle Programs:

  1. Art x Social Festival Street: A fully pedestrianized festival village offering food and beverage options on the first two weekends.
  2. Dungeons & Dragons: The Art Quest: A reimagined rendition of the role-playing tabletop game incorporating art from the National Collection.
  3. Collective Canvas: A Tour Reimagined: A participatory storytelling experience co-creating a narrative about artworks transcending time, culture, and canvases.
  4. Basement X: A community space in the Spine Hall for hands-on activities and Make and Take Activity Stations.

Light to Night Singapore 2024 offers extended opening hours until 11 pm on festival weekends and free entry to all exhibitions at National Gallery Singapore.
