The Violet Oon Group adds another jewel to its culinary crown with the opening of Bibik Violet, a new Peranakan café and bakery at Temasek Shophouse, Orchard Road. Opening 29 September 2025, this charming new spot offers a fresh, approachable take on Nyonya dining while staying true to the brand’s rich heritage roots. Designed as part of Temasek Shophouse’s expansion into a social impact hub, Bibik Violet exudes the warmth of a traditional Peranakan kitchen — complete with rattan accents, vintage furniture, and original Peranakan tiles salvaged from early 1900s shophouses.
Unlike Violet Oon’s refined restaurant concepts, Bibik Violet presents a casual, all-day menu perfect for family meals, weekday lunches, and weekend catch-ups. Expect well-loved local dishes like nasi lemak, Nyonya laksa, prawn mee, kueh pie tee, and buah keluak pork ribs, alongside nostalgic bakes such as orange sugee cake, traditional kueh, and kaya toast paired with freshly brewed kopi. With its relaxed vibe and more wallet-friendly prices, Bibik Violet makes the vibrant flavours of Peranakan cuisine accessible to everyone — from heritage food enthusiasts to those discovering it for the first time.
