Inspired by the Montessori school system, Italian designer Silvia Marlia has created the line of quality and functional children’s furniture and accessories,Sand. Named speciafically after the material for its ability to change shape, much like the crucial time in a child’s life when they are evolving and adapting to the world, sand designs are both playful and practical.
The collection includes pieces such as a rolling wardrobe and cabinet reminiscent of a classic traveller’s trunk, sun-themed single beds, and retro button-like tables and stools. The pieces are all handcrafted from solid American hardwoods while using child-safe finishes and materials. Although they are simplistic designs with muted primary colours, they are by no means boring.
Sturdy, pattern-free furniture pieces that provide children with a calm and positive environment to learn and play.
Both boys and girls!
Sand is sold exclusively at eco-chic furniture boutique TREE with funds supporting “Room to Read” charity to improve the lives of children in developing countries.
