Following the success of Aqua Nueva pop-up, Statement is now hosting the ever-popular Aqua Kyoto direct from Regent St, London. Expect to enjoy contemporary Japanese with a European influence to create delectable small dishes. The Aqua restaurant group is behind some of the most popular eateries in Hong Kong and London including Aqua, Hutong, Dim Sum Library, and of course the Aqua Luna. Statement restaurant has been elegantly sitting on the second floor of the colonial-era block 1 in the Police Headquarters Block in Tai Kwun since 2018 and has been providing modern British cuisine with a flair.
Statement will be hosting this exciting pop-up through the summer and will offer an a la carte dinner menu with mouth-watering desserts and refreshing cocktails, a weekend free-flow brunch plus a lighter Friday brunch. The Kanpai Weekend Brunch starts at HK$488 per person. One of the must-try dishes is the contemporary take on Japanese maki sushi made from salmon, beetroot & sea buckthorn berry with truffle mayonnaise. This combination defines exactly what Aqua Kyoto is all about. Other exciting dishes to try are the black cod, saikyo miso, tonburi with yuzu curd or the wagyu beef gyoza, tomato & nashi with ponzu pearls. Make sure you save some room for a delightful dessert such as the Tokyo banana, shiso lime & coconut sorbet with umeshu foam which can be enjoyed with fine sake.
Statement also hosts a great British afternoon tea with Ruinart Champagne at the Dispensary Bar. The afternoon tea menu is available Thursday through to Sunday, 3pm- 5pm and starts at HK$388 per person.
The Aqua Kyoto pop-up in Statement is a great date-night option and great for a friendly brunch. Reservations are recommended for both brunch and dinner. Currently, the dinner menu is served until 10pm. Aqua Kyoto is a limited-time pop-up so don’t miss out!
