Great Family Activities In Bali

A trip to Bali doesn’t just involve staying in a nice resort. There is a lot to learn too. Here are some of our favorite things to do at The Sungu in Ubud.

  • One of most popular Balinese instruments is a bamboo ornament played by hand. Rindik is gambelan meaning "tool" to explore music, the sounds are lovely, enthusiastic and elegant, touching the soul with reverence. These activities last for 2 hours and take place at BALE/Pool Side and will also include a selection of fruit juices.

  • Would you like to learn Balinese painting?. There are many styles of Balinese painting such as Balinese classical, Ubud style, Batuan style, Keliki style, Pengosekan style, and Kamasan style. The style of Kamasan is famous and based on the east Javanese " Wayang" art. This style is basically two dimensional, iconographic representations following strictly character and status which is seen from the colors used to portray them. Bali is an ever changing and ever evolving culture, As with all aspect in the life of the Balinese, you will discover the differences painting style's. Sampian/Canang sari will be placed on the top of "GEBOGAN" or Balinese Fruits arrangement. We would like to invite you to learn the Balinese Palm leaf creation from 3pm to 5pm at the pool side. While you join these activities, refreshment or afternoon tea with Balinese Cake will be serve.

  • To ensure your experience is more memorable, we suggest you to join Rice Paddy Trekking which is approximately a one-hour trip that can be daily or based on request. One of their staff will host you during this trip. The journey will take you through an intricate pattern of lush green rice paddies and fields of shimmering water through a farmers footpath where you will observe the ancient technique of plugging, planting, irrigating, and harvesting.
