Where To Go For Street Art And Installations In SG

Although graffiti in Singapore is prohibited, street art, on the other hand, is just around the corner in many parts of Singapore. Creativity knows no boundaries when it comes to wall murals, that combine both old school Singapore heritage as well as pops of colors that will be great Instagram backdrops.

1. Coffee Story – Designed by artist Yip Yew Chong, this wall mural features drawings of the old school coffee culture in Singapore. It was designed for A.R.C Café, which is a popular café in the Kampong Glam area.

2. Paddy Hills – For a fun and colorful wall mural, head to Paddy Hills. The walls outside this café has doodles in unique shapes and sizes, such as an egg and a watermelon.

3. Amah, Provision Shop and Barber – Located at Everton Road, this is a series of three art murals by Yip Yew Chong as well. As a throwback to the past, it features old provision shops, a lady washing clothes and an old barbershop.

4. Three Goats At Tiong Bahru Market – Most kids love animals, and there are three goats that they can spot around Tiong Bahru market, namely Papa Goat, Mama Goat and Baby Goat.

5. Shopping Trolley Kids – One of the few 3D art murals in Singapore, this one at Victoria Street features kids riding in a supermarket trolley cart. Part of the mural is made of real shopping carts, which makes this Ernest Zacharevic work a great photo photo op!

6. Ang Ji Gao – As part of a Guinness Singapore campaign, artist Ben Qwek designed this mural with a red-tongued dog, together with customised bottles and cans with a similar theme.

7. KJC Art Circuit – The Katong Joo Chiat disctrict has much art hidden in plain sight, and those interested can go for a self guided- tour around the area. The various murals offer more information on Peranakan culture too!

8. Alex Face Mural – Patcharapol Tangruen is a popular Thai artist, also known as Alex Face Mural. His signature doodles of his bunny characters can be found at this back alley with a Singapore touch – they’re dressed in a cheongsam and a kebaya.

9. Bras Basah Mural – This wall along Queen Street alleyway is a splash of colors and designs. There are also ledges and lamps to add a unique effect to photos taken here.

10. Little India Station – There are many murals in the Little India area, but one that stands out is the one with three colorful buffalos next to Little India MRT station. It’s based on where it’s located, since “Kerbau” is Malay for “buffalo”.
