Putrajaya, Malaysia’s federal administrative center, isn’t all office buildings and grand avenues. Located a 40-minute drive south of bustling Kuala Lumpur, this place is filled with charming parks, lakes and communal gardens and offers plenty of green space for picnics, cycling, lake cruises, nature walks, and even fun activities like flyboarding, horse riding, and rock climbing.
All that aside, the exciting secret garden that opened mid-last year may give you more reason to plan a visit to Putrajaya! The garden itself is not new: perched atop the hill that makes up the Putrajaya Roundabout, it was inaugurated in 1995 and spans some 154 acres. Located across Pulse Grande Hotel, this garden will leave visitors in awe with the spectacle of beautiful neon lights draped and wrapped around trees – just like in the blockbuster film, Avatar. This place will be of interest to those who love illuminated spectacles as it is an ethereal sight – spot neon lights of changing colors draped across tree branches, and fairy-lights embellishing almost every corner of the garden.
Putrajaya Secret Garden is open to the public, and there is no need to pay a fee of any sort to enter the garden.
The park is already beautifully landscaped and well maintained, and the addition of colourful lights lends it a magical, fantasy-like feel.
