Aimed at Grade 9 High School students, PRAXIS is an innovative interdisciplinary one-year program at The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) reimagines the classroom experience. PRAXIS fosters creative exploration, effective collaboration, and problem-solving through a flexible thinking space. Students reflect deeply and act with agency to make a difference.
Featuring a smaller learning community and flexible timetable, PRAXIS focuses on problem-based learning and situates the current science, English, social studies, and art/design curriculum around a series of complex, compelling problems that demand an interdisciplinary approach. Math, world language, and elective courses continue to be taught in the regular classroom setting.
A recent PRAXIS presentation was testament to the powerful learning that takes place at ISKL. It was inspiring to see ISKL’s School-Wide Learning Results (SLRs) in action with students engaged in high-level formal debates about Truth, Open Societies and how Artificial Intelligence is impacting our lives. They came up with their own authentic views, demonstrating ISKL’s SLRs with their ability to think creatively, reason critically, and communicate effectively.
