Leapfrog’s Unparalleled Outdoor Education In Hong Kong

Since it was founded in 1992, Leapfrog Kindergarten has leapt to the forefront of early years outdoor education in Hong Kong. It is the only registered kindergarten in Hong Kong that has a Forest School Program in Early Years! Kindergartners have daily access to Leapfrog’s own forest, a natural outdoor classroom where they access the acclaimed EYFS curriculum and explore, climb, swing, build dens and enjoy the freedom and the wealth of educational resources in a nurturing natural environment.

At the Forefront of Early Years Outdoor Education

Leapfrog Kindergarten is based at the heart of Sai Kung country park and makes the most out of its lush location. Teaching is enriched through the Forest School Program and bilingual class (English and Mandarin) following the British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The kindergarten delivers its EYFS curriculum and Forest School program in a fun, creative, engaging way in their forest, playground, terrace garden, mud kitchens, indoor and outdoor classrooms and other stimulating outdoor areas.

Learning Through Play

Leapfrog’s approach is focused on learning through play and thematic teaching. Children explore and play through both freely chosen and teacher-initiated activities, which facilitates a great sense of freedom despite having specified outcomes. Its prime areas of learning are Communication & Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts & Design.

Different Classes for Preschoolers

Classes for preschoolers include small groups for Little Explorers aged 3 to 5 that take place exclusively outdoors in the forest environment and consist of motivating tasks and activities that foster the development of intrinsic emotional and social skills and build their confidence and self-esteem.
