The Scoop:

Emergent Curriculum: The curriculum at Blooming Buds is flexible and constantly evolving due to their educators being responsive to children’s interests to create learning experiences that are meaningful to them.  Their educators are also guided by the Creative Curriculum from the USA.

Mixed-Age Preschool Class: Their mixed-age preschool class is designed for ages 3 – 6 years old which provides a more natural learning environment. Young learners receive emotional support and care beyond that which age-mates could provide. Older learners develop a capacity to nurture and lead, while also expanding their understanding through teaching.

Parents as Partners: Parents are recognized as an essential component of the school and play an important part in many of their curriculum aspects. Their ideas and skills are shared on a regular basis.

Positive Education: Positive education is embedded in their everyday activities to help develop children’s sense of well-being and social responsibility.

Character Education: With respect to heritage, Blooming Buds promotes the “Eight Virtues and One” or “八德一智” – a philosophy of Confucianism. These traits are nurtured in their students through skits, stories, and hands-on experiences.

5Rs: Students learn about being mindful of waste management from an early age through 5Rs: refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle.

Preschool in the Park: Beginning 2020-2021 academic year, once a month, students at Blooming Buds will be having classes in the park. This added curriculum element will allow children to develop positive attitudes and habits of protecting the environment and cherishing resources.

Personalized School Tours: Blooming Buds Preschool and Child Care Centre hosts on-going personalized school tours every Tuesdays and Thursdays. All school tours are conducted by members of the leadership team (Founder, Principal, or other senior staff).
