Set in 4,000 square meters of lush gardens, Basanta Agro Organic is home to a host of vegetables, fruits, herbs and spices. The Organic Gardens Tour takes visitors through the coffee plantation to The Kitchen Attraction where coffee roasting is carried out the traditional Balinese way.
A nursery area is where seedlings begin life before being moved into the main cultivation area where visitors will find everything from turmeric, ginger, ginseng, chilli, onions, garlic, mint, vanilla and galangal, to pineapples, bananas, papaya, passion fruit, noni fruits, pomelo, tangerines and typical Balinese fruits such as boni, lipase and sotong. Aubergines, carrots and tomatoes as well as coffee and cacao are also grown in the gardens.
Finish the tour at The Restaurant where a Coffee Tasting Tray includes seven different local coffees and teas, and the menu offers a range of raw vegan dishes made using organic ingredients from local farmers and the garden. Vegan gelato is made on site too using almond milk in chocolate, vanilla, lemon and strawberry flavors.
Balinese Cooking and Coffee Roasting Classes are also on offer so you can take the traditions of the Balinese kitchen back home with you.
At Basanta you can all learn more about the food you eat and organic farming processes as well as tasting delicious raw vegan food, coffee, tea and gelato. An hour's drive from Denpasar, this garden, plantation and restaurant on the edge of Tegallalang cliff makes for a great day out.
A family visit to an organic garden so children can learn more about where their food comes from. With a healthy restaurant and the opportunity to learn how to cook typical Balinese dishes, there's plenty to keep everyone happy.
Yoga classes, a Butterfly Garden and an Orchid Garden are all coming soon to Basanta Agro Organic.
