The big perk....Kids 12 and under ski free (with lift passes easily picked up at the ticket office), making it budget-friendly for families.

What Shea loved most was the clever design featuring movable walls (Japanese-style fusuma sliding doors in some configurations) that allowed the space to transform seamlessly — closing for privacy when the kids needed their own area, or opening up to create one large, open living and gathering space for family time. The premium bedding ensured everyone slept comfortably after long days on the slopes, while the stunning views of Mount Tokachi were top-notch from the private balcony. The overall modern, sleek vibe felt luxurious yet welcoming, with a fully equipped kitchen, living area, and thoughtful details that made it feel like a true home away from home.
Shea and her family loved the seamless, family-friendly perks at Fenix Furano, making their Hokkaido ski trip effortless and enjoyable.
Convenient Ski Perks: Gear setup couldn't have been easier — Shea rented skis right across the street at Rhythm Japan, with on-site ski lockers on the ground floor for organized storage. The property sits literally steps from the Kitanomine Gondola (just 10 meters away for true ski-in/ski-out access) and the lift ticket area, so mornings started with minimal hassle and maximum time on the slopes.
F&B Perks: Mornings kicked off with breakfast at the on-site Fenix Restaurant and Bar — a delicious set menu featuring fresh, seasonal Japanese or Western options, plus coffee and healthy snacks perfect for kids. High chairs are available on request, and families can book the restaurant for simple yet tasty evening meals featuring Hokkaido specialties like seafood, tempura, and hotpot. The cozy setting made fueling up convenient without leaving the building.
Go Anywhere in Furano: A free shuttle service runs throughout the Kitanomine Zone from 7am. to 10pm, whisking families to nearby restaurants, spots in town, or quick errands — stress-free dinners out or après-ski adventures were a breeze. This was a major perk for Shea and crew as it made eating out simple and convenient every night!
