It’s time for clay play, kiddos! Da Vinci Group’s pottery classes focus on neuro-education and pottery classes designed to stimulate different areas of the brain.
Founded by Amutha Saravanan and her husband partner three years ago, this creative venture helps kids develop their creativity, problem-solving and abstract thinking skills through the art of pottery. The curriculum is designed in a way that helps kids improve their skills. For example, a technique called smooshing, helps kids improve their fine motor skills and visual awareness. Likewise, techniques like hollowing, aid in depth and spatial awareness.
Luckily they use lead and toxin free clay, so the lovely clay figure your bub makes is more than a keepsake. Its functional given that its food, microwave and dishwasher safe! For the younger lot (2-4 years), Amutha uses birch clay as it is easier to handle and doesn’t dry out.
