This SG60, Sentosa is getting a bold and beautiful makeover with Peranakan Reimagined—a large-scale cultural showcase running from May 23 to August 31, 2025. Jointly presented by Sentosa Development Corporation and Mount Faber Leisure Group, the celebration also marks the 10th anniversary of the Singapore Cable Car – Sentosa Line. The island-wide experience invites locals and tourists alike to rediscover Peranakan heritage through a fresh, contemporary lens.
Expect vibrant displays, interactive art, and cultural storytelling that breathe new life into age-old traditions. Highlights include The Peranakan House at Lookout Loop—an eye-catching 7.2-meter structure that glows with projection mapping at night. Over at Tactile Trellis, 198 panels bloom with beadwork-inspired designs, leading up to a pair of massive kasut manek (traditional slippers) that spotlight intricate craftsmanship.
The experience continues above ground on the Sentosa Line, where pastel-hued cable cars adorned with Peranakan motifs soar across the island, paying tribute to the colorful shophouses of Koon Seng Road. Down at Siloso Point Station, two larger-than-life tingkats (tiffin carriers) inspired by The Intan Peranakan Home Museum add a playful and nostalgic touch.
With workshops, performances, and curated dining experiences also in the mix, Peranakan Reimagined offers something for everyone—whether you’re a culture buff, photography lover, or just looking for a unique way to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday.
