Why Little Steps Loves It:

If you are going to go and see the pink dolphins, it's best to go with a reputable tour operator such as Hong Kong Dolphin Watch which is keen to raise awareness of the plight of the pink dolphins, generates revenue for research and campaigns, and advises on how we can help the dolphins which are suffering more than ever due to the effect that airport development, the construction of the Macau bridge, fishing and shipping are all having on their habitats.

Who It's Perfect For:

Responsible tours to see Hong Kong's special pink dolphins that kids, adults and visitors to Hong Kong will all love.

What Else:

About The Dolphins:

*  In Hong Kong, pink dolphins are mostly seen around Lantau and the Soko Islands.

*  Very little is known about these gorgeous creatures as they were only discovered in the early 90's when the airport was being built in Hong Kong.

*  It is believed that the pink color is caused by "blushing" (flushing blood to outer layers of the skin for regulation of body temperature.

*  Average life span of dolphins in Hong Kong is almost half shorter than that of other wild populations due to environmental issues in the area.

Get the kids involved in helping save the dolphins habitat.  Here is how!

1.  Support green groups and research.  More info here!

2.  Write to the government and media.

3.  Reduce your own ecological footprint.

4.  Spread the word!
