A few tips for eating in Niseko:

*Make sure and check to see if the restaurant takes credit cards – many do not.
*After making a reservation, make sure and check the criteria for confirmation. Many restaurants require you to confirm 24-hours before even after you make the reservation.
Open for lunch and dinner, this is a great restaurant for some après ski. This Japanese restaurant has either set menu options or a la carte. The kids will love the chicken teriyaki set or the zangi fried chicken set. There’s an extensive, wine, sake and beer menu, and for the little ones, there is plenty of hot chocolate and fresh juice too.

You must book 72 hours in advance and confirm 1 day prior to your day as well. For fun with kids request a tatami mat/window table.
This is an iconic Michelin-starred restaurant so it’s great for date night or a special family occasion. Choose from the early bird dinner which is served at 6 pm or the degustation menu which showcases some of the best and finest ingredients around. In the summer, they serve a delicious lunchtime menu too. This is a comfortable and cozy restaurant where you can relax after a day of fun.

For safety reasons and for the comfort and convenience of other guests, Kamimura is unable to cater to children under 7 years of age, except if you book for a side room. This place is perfect if you love ramen. You must try their delicious, fluffy, potato ramen. Like it spicy? Then try the red, spicy challenge. The miso ramen is delicious and if you like laksa you’ll love this warm and hearty soup. The kids will love the vegetable and shrimp tempura which is served with a yummy sauce that’s finger licking!

The warm and hearty soba noodle hot spot is loved by kids of all ages. We personally love the pan-fried tender duck meat and Japanese leeks in Soba noodles and the rice cakes, shitake mushrooms, burdocks and chicken in Soba noodles. All perfect after a day of skiing and boarding.

Located in town, this is a short walk from most hotels. This cozy and warm restaurant is perfect for a family dinner. The menu is homey and wholesome. You can enjoy a wide range of Japanese comfort foods all locally sourced. Get a selection of dishes and share family style. Vegetarian dishes are available too.

Bang Bang is a fun and casual Japanese Izakaya. It has a warm, cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for a family dinner. The yakitori skewers are a delicious way to start dinner. We recommend you try the chargrilled Hokkaido beef loin steak, boiled Shiretoko thornyhead, salmon sashimi and Akkeshi oysters. Get in some beers and sake for mom and dad and some fresh juices for the kids.

This small bar doesn’t take reservations so come early to avoid a snug dinner. Families are welcome from 5pm to 8pm but it’s over 20’s only after 8pm. Mom and dad should stay for a late-night drink as there’s a super cool DJ that only plays vinyl. The bar is well stocked and the barmen know a thing or two about mixing a drink! This is a must-visit hole in the wall.

This is a traditional Japanese restaurant with quite a strict kid code. Under 4’s are not allowed and kiddos age 4-12 must be seated by 5:45pm. You can choose from the Charcoal Grilled Freshwater Eel on Rice Set Menu, the Seven Course Eel Tasting Menu or the Robata Kaiseki Course Menu. Lunch and dinner are both served and they’re open in summer and winter.
