Southeast Asia’s leading women’s wear brand, Love, Bonito, has announced the release of its first children’s book titled “Lili the Lioness & Friends”. The book will be launched under LBCreate, Love, Bonito’s social impact arm, which launched a partnership with Mattel, with the “Dream it, do it!” Barbie® collection in 2021.
The engaging book follows the journey of Jungle School’s head girl Lili the Lioness, who invents her own “power cheer” to motivate her friends in school, but loses her voice as she is about to make a special announcement for the students. Through her ups and downs, readers will discover the power of finding strength in vulnerability as well as empowerment through community, teamwork, and collaboration — all of which are representative of Love, Bonito’s culture and values. The book is targeted at children aged 3 to 7 years old and features interactive elements like instructions to write their own “power cheer”, empowering young girls to create their own voices.
With this initiative, Love, Bonito has chosen to benefit Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam, due to the educational barriers faced by youths, especially young girls in these nations. The book will be available in a physical version and an animated video book on Vooks. Each purchase includes a complimentary one-year subscription to the Vooks platform worth US$49.99. Free shipping is provided across 20 countries, subject to spending thresholds.
The vibrant colors and emotional storyline of the book will certainly allow children to immerse in the story, be empowered with their own voices, and remind all of us that we are not alone.
You can purchase the print edition via Love, Bonito’s websites from 16 September, and is priced at SG$25, whilst stocks last.
Amazing storyline that empowers young children, and also moves the heart of adults.
Children aged 3 to 7 years old, and all of us who love Love, Bonito.
Love, Bonito is supporting the education of girls in historically low-income communities in Asia for a year through proceeds from the physical book sales – at a target goal of US$30,000.
