Among the graduates that did the school proud is Shun Kuroki, who joined in Year 9 with limited English proficiency. Through perseverance, dedication, and the support of the school’s highly effective English as an Additional (EAL) programme, he developed his language skills and excelled academically, scoring all A’s and A*’s in the recent A-Levels.
Shun’s success was fueled by his passion for learning, and he achieved an A* for his Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) on teleportation. His academic journey was further enriched by his participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and third place finish in the ACSIS U19 cross-country team. Both the EPQ and the Duke of Edinburgh Award are key electives of the EtonCore programme, which emphasizes holistic development.
The International A-Levels leverage students’ strengths, enabling them to focus on three to four subjects they’re passionate about. This approach maximises their potential and enhances university admission prospects while avoiding unnecessary pressure from compulsory subjects that may not align with their strengths.
A distinctive feature of the International A-Levels is its modular structure. Students spread their exams over the two-year programme, taking AS exams at the end of Year 12 and A2 exams at the end of Year 13. The final A-Level grade is an average of the AS and A2 grades. With two exam periods each year, students have the flexibility to retake AS modules if needed, ensuring they achieve the best possible grades for university admission.
EtonHouse International School Orchard follows an August to June academic calendar, providing a boutique learning environment with small class sizes where every teacher knows each student well. Their personalized guidance supports students in their academic journey and university applications.
Students also benefit from its bespoke EtonCore and Lifeskills programmes, which foster growth mindsets and help build meaningful CVs for future success.
Offering a direct pathway to higher education, A-Levels are globally recognized and highly regarded by universities and employers alike.
Families looking for a highly supportive and personalized learning environment that helps children grow and flourish in their own right just before they depart for university.
EtonHouse also operates Middleton International School, which offers the International A-Levels programme on a January to December academic calendar.
