Elmo, Cookie Monster, and other lovable Sesame Street characters are reaching out to young children confused at being stuck at home during this challenging time of the COVID-19 crisis. Their ‘Caring For Each Other’ initiative, aimed at helping parents to provide comfort and manage anxiety during the epidemic, consists of videos, coloring pages, eBooks, and information sheets aimed at parents to help navigate their kids through the ‘for now normal’. This initiative features existing videos that spotlight health and safety tips such as staying clean and hugging oneself. There are also links provided to full Sesame Street episodes and e-Books to help people stay entertained.
With a knack for bridging many cultural and educational gaps with a fun program and an even fun cast of characters, this initiative by Sesame Street also offers kids original short films, live-action, and animated videos. In addition, resources for parents have been posted about how to explain COVID-19 to kids and self-care for adults. Content will be updated regularly as the pandemic plays out, with original and existing content being continually added. There are also adorable videos on schooling the kids on the current situation, the importance of washing their hands plus lots of great ideas to help your family to find ways to breathe, laugh, and play together during this time.
Enjoy original short-films, live-action, and animated videos plus a whole lot of other resources by the Sesame Street gang to help you and your kids laugh and play together!
