Mooncake, lantern and full moon. What comes into mind? Yes, it is none other than one of the loveliest Chinese festivals, the Mid-Autumn Festival which is all about celebration with the family. This festival falls on the 8th moon, 15th day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar around the time of the Autumn Equinox. In the Western calendar, this festival normally falls between the 2nd week of September and the 2nd week of October. Symbolizing moonlight, prosperity, gratitude and reunion, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a Chinese celebration that is equally anticipated by multiracial Malaysians. One can’t simply resist the wide array of scrumptious mooncakes, and the must-featured lantern-playing event is a breathtaking spectacle to witness and be a part of.

Teens from 16 years onwards with an artistic streak, here’s your chance to shine! Join the Aeon Mall Cheras Selatan Moonlight Tin Lantern Competition. Just spend RM50 or more in a single or combined receipt on the same day to qualify for entry and register at the Mall Information Counter to participate. The lanterns must be made of tin, and extra points will be given for LED or candle light.
