Malaysia is going to be 62 years old soon! ‘Merdeka’ means ‘independent’ and while Malaysia has been free from colonization for more than 50 years ago, the Merdeka celebration is still a glorious annual event with different themes and programmes held during the auspicious month. Celebrate our country’s freedom & independence with the spectacular fireworks on August 31, 2019 at 8pm. Light up the celebrations with the most spectacular fireworks display at the peak of Genting Highlands. Book a room and take a drive up to Genting Highlands to enjoy the cool, crisp air and the stunning light showers at 8pm. We suggest heading there early to avoid the massive crawl as parking can get tricky at peak hours.
In Kuala Lumpur, the KLCC, Dataran Merdeka and Bukit Bintang areas are normally the favourite spots for fireworks display. As usual, hundreds of thousands of people will flock to the city centre for the New Year’s countdown and celebration. Get your gear out tonight to capture the New Year fireworks display! Merdeka merdeka merdeka!!
