Get your hands dirty, kids! Located just north of Ubud amongst the rice fields, Sari Api Ceramics Studio invites kids and adults to create pottery pieces under the tutelage of a master ceramicist. The open-air artist-run teaching studio is a relaxing atmosphere where both kids and adults can create fun and unique pieces together.
Sari Api offers ceramics classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced sculptors. Kids will learn hand-building techniques, such as the pinch and slab methods of working with clay. Depending upon interest, some children are introduced to the pottery wheel to spin their own bowls, cups and vases. Afterwards, they paint their ceramics with a colorful array of glazes.
It’s a great travel souvenir or gift!
Children explore their inner creativity while learning the art of ceramics. It's also a great way to spend quality family time!
Sari Api offers classes for children 4-14, adults and even experienced ceramicists!
If you are traveling on holiday, take into consideration the time it takes for the pieces to dry and get kiln fired. The minimum amount of time is two weeks, so make sure to schedule classes at the beginning so you can take your finished pieces home with you. The talented artist behind Sari Api sells her incredible wares in a store by the same name in Sanginggan, Ubud. She also displays a few items at Juice Ja organic juice and sandwich joint on Jl. Dewa Sita in Ubud.
