Your Guide To Oct-LOFT Shenzhen: The City’s Hip Creative Hub

Where To Shop, Eat & Explore + How To Get There

Tucked away in Shenzhen’s urban sprawl, OCT-Loft Creative Culture Park is a prime example of industrial transformation, where old factory buildings have evolved into a vibrant, hip, and trendy cultural hub. Perfect for a few hours of exploration and strolling with the family, it showcases the city’s innovative spirit. Originally a 1980s TV manufacturing complex owned by Konka, the site was abandoned in the late 1990s during Shenzhen’s industrial shift. In 2004, it was reimagined as a creative park that blends communist-era architecture with contemporary design. Today, it’s home to nearly 300 creative companies, design studios, and cultural institutions, with cobblestone pathways and tree-lined streets adding charm to its industrial roots.

Shopping and Markets

OCT-Loft offers unique shopping experiences for creative souls. Furniture store Ziihome specializes in sustainable, modern designs, while boutique shops like MARKET sell handcrafted jewelry, vintage-inspired accessories, and one-of-a-kind gifts. The T Street Creative Market, held biweekly, transforms the park into a lively bazaar with handmade crafts, ceramics, and art pieces.

Coffee and Dining

The park boasts an impressive coffee culture, with independent cafes like Phase Coffee offering cozy, design-forward spaces perfect for inspiration. By evening, restaurants and bars create a lively social atmosphere. Venues like The Shape of Water and Na Meal add to the park’s charm, blending stylish dining with outdoor vibes and live music. Whether you’re in search of a quick breakfast bite, a leisurely lunch or an alfresco dinner with charming surroundings, you’ve got plenty of options.

Art and Culture

The park houses notable art spaces like the OCT Contemporary Art Terminal (OCAT), showcasing cutting-edge exhibitions, and the He Xiangning Art Museum, highlighting modern Chinese art. From gallery exhibitions to interactive outdoor installations, OCT-Loft is a dynamic cultural destination. Old Heaven Books, a cozy bookstore doubling as a vinyl shop and café, is a cultural gem. With curated books, records, and live performances, it’s a hub for creatives and music lovers alike.

Getting There

OCT-Loft is easily accessible by the Shenzhen Metro. Take Line 1 to Qiaocheng East (Exit A) or Line 2 to Qiaocheng North (Exit B). The journey from downtown takes 40 minutes and costs just 3 RMB. From Shenzhen Bao’an Airport, it’s about an hour by metro or 35 minutes by taxi. If you’re using Didi, you can just input OCT-Loft into the search bar.

Located just 1.1 km from the InterContinental Shenzhen, the park is a 10–15 minute walk or a quick taxi ride from the hotel!
