Chill out at the brand new Frozen Tundra exhibit at the Singapore Zoo this upcoming school break. Come face to face with 22 year-old Inuka, the very first polar bear to be born in the tropics, and his new neighbors, Pom and Poko, a pair of cute and cuddly raccoons from Japan’s Asahiyama Zoo as well as Boris and Ivana, two wolverines from Russia’s Novosibirsk Zoo.
Watch Inuka nestling and frolicking within his climate controlled cave-like den or making a big splash into his expanded pool filled with giant ice blocks. He now has so much more room to roam in, with his new habitat being four times bigger than his previous enclosure.
Little Steps Tip: Be sure to pack a cardigan before heading to the zoo to watch Inuka in action. The viewing gallery will be cooled down to a chilly 17-18 degree Celsius, the same temperature as what Inuka experiences in his icy cave. Brrr!
This is surely one cool way to beat the tropical heat!
Nature lovers and zoo visitors needing to cool down in a hurry!
Thoughout June, the exhibit will be hosting a series of weekend activities including mascot appearances, ice sculpting demonstrations and guided walk-throughs.
