An unforgettable adventure is just around the corner with the announcement of the grand opening of PokéPark KANTO, the world’s very first permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction, coming in early 2026. Located in the Tama Hills of Yomiuriland, just outside Tokyo, this magical park spans 26,000 square meters and is packed with over 600 Pokémon from Kanto and beyond!

What to expect at PokéPark KANTO

  • The Pokémon Forest: A sprawling wilderness where you can encounter Pokémon in their natural habitats. Wander through hilly paths, tall grass, tunnels, and rocky trails to observe Pokémon as they run, battle, and share Berries. Keep your eyes open—whether it’s spotting towering Pokémon overhead or uncovering smaller ones hiding underground, surprises are everywhere!
  • Sedge Town: The heart of Trainer life, Sedge Town is where friendships are formed. Visit the Pokémon Center, Poké Mart, and the Sedge Gym, or enjoy the vibrant Pokémon parade. Don’t forget to stop by the Primarina Fountain, the perfect spot for photos and memories. There’s also a Trainers’ Market filled with exclusive goodies, plus two mystery attractions yet to be revealed!

How to Get There from Tokyo

PokéPark KANTO is located within Yomiuriland, a popular amusement park near Tokyo. Here’s how you can get there:

  1. From Shinjuku Station:
    • Take the Keio Line to Keio Yomiuriland Station (about 30 minutes).
    • From there, hop on the Yomiuriland Gondola for a scenic ride straight to the park.
  2. From Tokyo Station:
    • Take the JR Chuo Line to Shinjuku Station, then transfer to the Keio Line as above.
  3. By Car:
    • Yomiuriland is about a 40-minute drive from central Tokyo. Parking is available on-site.
