Hong Kong International Airport has just announced the launch of its Sensory Corner, a dedicated space designed to support passengers with sensory needs, including those with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing challenges. Following in the footsteps of global airports like Dubai and Singapore, this thoughtful addition provides a calm, quiet environment where kids and adults alike can relax and recharge amidst the bustling airport atmosphere.
The Sensory Corner is equipped with calming, tactile features thoughtfully designed to reduce sensory overload. Inside, you’ll find soft lighting, beanbags, soothing visuals, and sensory-friendly equipment designed to provide relaxation and relief for passengers with heightened sensory needs. There’s also ample space for children to move around comfortably without feeling overwhelmed.
Where to Find It
It's a crucial step towards making HKIA even more inclusive to all passengers.
This quiet and inclusive space is ideal for relaxing before a flight or giving neurodivergent loved ones a calming break, making travel smoother for the whole family.
