
In light of the tragic and devastating fires in Tai Po, Hong Kong has made changes to its annual New Year’s Eve celebrations. The iconic Victoria Harbour fireworks display has been cancelled this year out of respect for those affected by the tragedy.
Instead, Hong Kong’s iconic New Year’s Eve countdown is getting a new home this year, with celebrations moving from Victoria Harbour to Chater Road in Central and will sit right alongside Hong Kong Winterfest in Central, which has already transformed Statue Square, Chater Road, and the surrounding area into a glowing Christmas town complete with light installations, festive decorations, and an immersive light show on nearby buildings.
