Starbucks has unveiled an innovative concept store at the Hong Kong Palace Museum in West Kowloon, offering a serene retreat where coffee meets art, culture, and craftsmanship.
The store’s design features collaborations with local artists to celebrate Chinese artistry. Calligrapher Westley Wong created the elegant Chinese “Starbucks” brush signage at the entrance, while artist Elsa Ngai contributed botanical artworks depicting the coffee plant’s life cycle with mineral pigments and gold leaf. Porcelain sculptor Leo Wong designed a ceramic wall installation inspired by Yunnan’s landscapes and Chinese philosophy, adding a touch of motion and harmony to the space.
Guests can enjoy stunning views of Victoria Harbour while sampling exclusive offerings, including a plum blossom–inspired beverage range. Options include oolong tea and coffee-based drinks served with plum sauce, a whole plum, creamy foam, and tonic water for iced versions. The store also debuts the Turmeric Oatmilk Latte, available only at this location.
Food offerings include two Ancient Egypt–themed desserts: the Golden Pistachio Pyramid Cake and Mummy’s Secret Roll, a nod to the Hong Kong Palace Museum’s current, and very successful, exhibition.
The store further enhances the experience with Hong Kong’s first Starbucks engraving service, allowing customers to personalise tumblers, and interactive Coffee Micro-Experiences, such as hand-brewing sessions, latte art demonstrations, and curated coffee tastings.
With its blend of premium coffee, Chinese artistry, and cultural inspiration, this concept store offers a one-of-a-kind experience for coffee enthusiasts and culture lovers alike—a perfect stop after a day of culture at the Hong Kong Palace Museum.
