Pick Strawberries And Veggies With The Kids In Hong Kong

A Visit To Long Ping Strawberry Farm With Kids For A Boutique Farm Experience In Hong Kong

If you have not journeyed to Hong Kong’s gorgeous New Territories for a day out at one of the region’s farms, it’s time!  Strawberry Season is in full swing, and this is a perfect outing to add to your weekend itinerary for things to do with kids!

Located in Yuen Long, Long Ping is a wonderful organic farm that is easy to access and offers a variety of farm activities catering to all ages (toddlers, kids, tweens, and teens). Entry to the farm is free, and it is open daily from 8am-6pm. You pay for what you pick, so the more strawberries and cabbage that go into your basket, the more you pay. After you stock up on your fresh finds, you can eat them farm-to-table style in the picnic area. We recommend going now as the strawberry season in Hong Kong runs from December to April.

The scoop:

  • Cost: It’s free! The strawberries cost HK$90 per pound (approximately HK$198 per kilo). You can also request to visit their veggie areas for cherry tomatoes, cabbage, lettuce, radishes, and more at HK$25 per pound for vegetables and HK$60 per pound for cherry tomatoes.
  • How to get there?: You can drive and park right in front of the farm (free parking Monday-Friday; HK$30 all-day parking on weekends and public holidays). You can also take public transport – MTR to Long Ping Station, exit B2, then take K66 bus to Tai Tong (Roundabout) station. It’s about a 3-minute walk from there, behind the Tai Tong Village archway next to the sports field. Alternatively, catch a red minibus from Thousand Colours Plaza heading to Tai Tong and get off at Tai Tong Village. Click here for the Google Maps link.
