Little Steps Reviews: Zuma's New Shūmatsu Brunch

Everyone in the know knows that Zuma offers one of the most iconic free-flow brunches in Hong Kong. Available every Saturday and Sunday, their Luxurious Shūmatsu Brunch with Baikingu Station is a must-try for foodies and brunch enthusiasts alike. When the Little Steps team received an invite to review the revamped experience, we couldn’t resist! Dressed in our finest brunch attire, we made our way to LANDMARK to explore their upgraded menus and exciting new offerings—read on for all the delicious details!

  • The Zuma Brunch Experience

    Plentiful Food & Drink

On a buzzing Saturday in August, the room was alive with energy, packed with diners soaking in the vibrant ambiance. A live DJ spun lively tunes, setting the perfect tone for brunch (definitely book ahead!). You begin by choosing your beverage package, from Ruinart to Dom Pérignon champagne, or a soft drink, juice, and tea option for a lighter experience.

Once dietaries were sorted (vegetarians and pescatarians were well-catered for), the food started to arrive. Zuma’s signature starters, served fresh to the table, included Seared Beef Tataki with Truffle Ponzu, Seared Salmon with Lemon, Shiso, and Soy, and Potato Salad with Soft-Boiled Egg and Truffle Mayo Dressing. These were followed by a stunning chef-selected sushi and sashimi platter featuring salmon, tuna, and hamachi sashimi; engawa and salmon nigiri; and spicy tuna maki (a table favorite). Vegetarian diners received equally exquisite sushi. Portions were generous, staff encouraged seconds (we couldn’t resist extra spicy tuna rolls!), and champagne glasses were never left empty—Zuma’s service was flawless.

The highlight of the brunch was the Baikingu Station, a Japanese-style buffet now back with upgraded offerings. Set near the robata grill, you could watch chefs in action while indulging in a vast selection of dishes: assorted tempura, shrimp and chicken karaage, sweet corn with shiso butter, tiger prawn with apple chili miso, tsukune chicken with teriyaki glaze, Japanese oden, and pork gyoza with spicy yuzu truffle. Hearty options like barley miso chicken, pork ribs, Angus sirloin steak, and saba fish rounded out the spread. Premium mains, like roasted lobster with shiso and ponzu butter (HK$220) or A4-grade Japanese Wagyu Miyazaki sirloin (HK$590), added extra indulgence.

The buffet created a lively, social atmosphere, with diners mingling and enjoying the celebratory vibe as the DJ kept the energy high. Stretching your legs after all the champagne and diving into the buffet made for the perfect balance of indulgence and fun.

The experience ended with Zuma’s signature Premium Dessert Platter served tableside. While everything was beautifully presented, the standout was the shaved ice cream, which tasted exactly like caramel popcorn!

  • The Verdict

    When Can We Go Back?!

Zuma never misses. The Shūmatsu Brunch is everything you’d expect from one of Hong Kong’s most iconic brunch spots: generous portions, impeccable service, and an unwavering commitment to quality. We loved that the sushi platter remains a staple, served fresh to the table with the option to ask for more (which we gladly did!). The reintroduced Baikingu Station brought a fun and interactive element to the experience, and the lively vibe—with the DJ spinning tracks—turned the afternoon into a mini celebration. After all the food and champagne, we even had a little boogie by the DJ booth. It was fun, vibrant, and oh-so-fabulous!
