Fun Outdoor Learning With Malvern’s Forest-Beach School In Hong Kong

Spending time outdoors is as important to a child’s well-being and developmental growth as a conventional classroom setting, and children benefit physically, emotionally, and academically from regular outdoor learning sessions.

Malvern Forest-Beach School Nature Explorers is the only programme in Hong Kong that incorporates beach and forest sites. Taught by our dedicated Level 3 trained teacher with specific qualifications in Forest School and Beach School, children develop their language, inquiry and investigation skills while learning about the diversity of flora and fauna in the natural surroundings of its two beautiful outdoor learning sites.

Now, this wonderful nature learning experience is available to external students.

About the program:

• This fantastic outdoor program is built on a philosophy of child-led learning with a focus on all five senses. Woodland and the beach become the children’s classroom where they engage in outdoor activities like scavenger hunts and shelter building to enhance collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. The programme runs in all safe weather conditions and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from pupils, parents, and teachers.
• The sessions are offered either in English or Mandarin, so your child will develop their language skills while following structured activities led by qualified Forest-Beach School teachers.
• Sessions run over a six-week block with one lesson per fortnight from Monday to Friday from 1:10pm-3:45pm, including traveling time from Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong Island West campus to Forest-Beach School and back.
• For children from 2 to 3 years old, activities take place at Garden Farm (131 Tseng Tau Village, Shap Sze Heung in Sai Kung).
• Children aged 3 to 6 years old will attend classes at the Victoria Recreation Club (DD 252 Lot 316, Tai Mong Tsai, Sai Kung).
