Creative Family Day Events At The M+ Museum Hong Kong Await

Families are invited to embark on a journey of creativity and togetherness at the M+ during their captivating Family Day events. Taking place on select Sundays in the second half of each month, these family-oriented gatherings are designed to create a vibrant tapestry of shared experiences. Paint, draw and collage to your heart’s content thanks to a series of workshops and events, suitable for kids aged 4 and above.

If you haven’t been yet, the M+ Museum is a magical place where art, design, architecture, moving images, and visual wonders from Hong Kong, mainland China, Asia, and beyond come together to captivate and inspire. They also have an amazing kids’ shop dedicated to those who love art and contemporary culture.

The M+Family Day Events change regularly, so be sure to check their page for the latest updates! Some events are conducted in Cantonese while others are in English. Also, be sure to book in advance as spaces are limited and fill up pretty fast!

Upcoming and past events include: 

• Travelogue The Colors Of Memory: in this special workshop and using special “viewfinders” of different sizes and engaging sensory games, participants will experience their surroundings in a whole new light. Guided by M+ Educators, families will unleash their creativity by translating the vibrant “scenery” onto a giant canvas using their bodies and a variety of painting tools.
• Moving Landscape: transform into breathtaking landscapes and fascinating animals inspired by international artists. Use props inspired by the M+ collections to bring these creations to life alongside other families.
• Sensory Party In Kusama’s Wonderland: be inspired by this amazing artist and enjoy the magic of pattern-making with luminous paint. Gather around a long tea table and explore a range of emotions—happiness, sadness, fear, anger, calmness, and more—as you express them through artistic creations. Get ready for a glowing adventure filled with creativity and self-expression!
• Imagination Playground: here, the play area is filled with large cubes and modules of various shapes and forms that can be rearranged in countless ways. It’s a safe and exciting environment where children can freely explore and create using their hand-eye coordination skills. Let their imagination run wild as they invent imaginary forms and structures.
