Ramenya Shima (らぁ麺や 嶋), celebrated as one of Tokyo’s “Three Great Ramen Restaurants” and consistently ranked among Japan’s best, has landed in Hong Kong! The first overseas branch has officially opened its doors at Sugar+ in Causeway Bay, bringing Chef Hiroshi Morishima’s legendary ramen to local foodies.
This highly anticipated opening comes with a catch: only 24 counter seats and just 120 bowls of ramen served daily (60 per lunch and dinner session). If you’re planning to visit, get there super early and prepare for long queues. This is one spot that’s bound to draw a crowd. Chef Morishima himself will oversee the ramen preparation during the soft opening to ensure every bowl matches the Tokyo flagship’s standard of perfection.
Must-Try Dishes
Ramenya Shima offers more than just its legendary ramen. Don’t miss the Truffle Oil and Akatsuki Egg Donburi (HK$68) or the crispy Chicken Nanban (HK$48). For dessert, the silky Almond Panna Cotta (HK$28) is the perfect sweet ending. There are also delicious add-ons like the Chashu Set (HK$78) featuring five styles of chashu, handmade Shrimp Wontons (HK$32 for two) or Pork Wontons (HK$28 for two), and the creamy, umami-packed Soft-Boiled Egg (HK$18) made with Akatsuki eggs.
If you’re a ramen lover, don’t miss this chance to experience one of Japan’s most celebrated bowls right here in Hong Kong. Just be sure to arrive early—those 120 bowls won’t last long!
