Akira Back, the world-renowned restaurant, has opened on the 5th floor of The Henderson at 2 Murray Road, Central. Known for its fusion of Japanese and Korean flavors with bold American influences, this hotspot brings Chef Akira Back’s innovative cuisine to Hong Kong, joining an impressive portfolio of 27 global locations in cities like Paris, Dubai, and Seoul.
Chef Back’s Bold Vision
Born in Seoul and raised in Aspen, Chef Akira Back’s journey from professional snowboarder to acclaimed chef inspires his unique culinary creations. Highlights of the menu include:
- AB Tuna Pizza: Fresh tuna sashimi with ponzu aioli and white truffle oil on a crisp crust.
- Toro Tartare: Served with caviar and nine condiments inspired by Korean royal cuisine.
- 48-Hour Wagyu Short Ribs: A refined take on Galbi-jim with sous-vide Australian Wagyu.
- Seasonal tasting menus and desserts like the Apple Harumaki and AB Tiramisu ensure guests enjoy an ever-evolving dining experience.
The curated cocktail menu includes creations like the Gochujang Michelada and Yuzu White Negroni, alongside premium wines, soju, and shochu. The restaurant’s dramatic design, crafted by AB Concept, features gold-leaf ceilings, pink marble counters, and artwork by Chef Back’s mother, offering a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere.
Akira Back is the first of three culinary concepts opening at The Henderson, leading to Summit 38 and Cloud 39, Hong Kong’s highest rooftop ballroom. Open daily for lunch, drinks, and dinner, reservations are now available for this unforgettable dining adventure.
