One of Hong Kong's best beaches is also one of the best campsites in Hong Kong! Long Ke Wan...here we come.

The long white beach located in Sai Kung Country Park has always been a favorite escape for Hong Kongers looking for a slice of paradise in their backyard. Long Ke Wan is easier to access than it's sister beach beauties (Sai Wan and Tai Long Wan) making a camping trip here easier on the kiddos.

THE SCOOP:

* HIKE: With older kids, you can start the hike at stage one of the MacLehose Trail and hike 3 hours alongside the reservoir to Long Ke. For the little ones or when you are carrying a lot of camping gear, take a taxi directly to the end of the Dam on High Island Reservoir toward Long Ke Wan. There will be a pavilion there to note the start of the hike to the beach. This hike takes around 25-35 minutes and is not stroller-friendly.

* CAMP: You will need to bring everything to the campsite that you need, as there are no restaurants or stores in sight. There are BBQ pits available. If you need tents and other camping supplies, pop by Sai Kung Town before you make the trek.

* BEACH: White sand...everywhere! Make sure to bring toys.

* TOILETS: There are public toilets here, but they are rather terrifying. We recommend you use the 'natural options'!
