Welcome to Playfield 5, the latest gem of the Kai Tak Sports Park, a vibrant, inclusive outdoor play area designed specifically for children aged 2–12. Inspired by the five elements of Chinese philosophy, wood, fire, earth, metal, and water, this playground brims with colors, textures, and features that make it as visually stunning as it is fun.
What to Expect at Playfield 5
At Playfield 5, there’s something for every little adventurer, no matter their interests or abilities. Here’s what makes it so special:
- Water Play Zone: Cool off and splash around in the water play area, designed with fountains, sprays, and shallow streams for endless aquatic fun. Perfect for sunny days!
- Ziplines: Ready to zoom through the air? The zipline section lets kids glide across the playground with thrilling speed, bringing a sense of adventure to their day.
- Sandpit: Dig, build, and create to your heart’s content in the large sandpit. Whether it’s sandcastles or treasure hunts, the possibilities are endless.
- Trampolines: Bounce, jump, and reach for the sky! The trampoline section is a favorite for kids who love to move and have fun.
- Climbing Frames and Slides: Test your strength and agility on the climbing structures or race your friends down the colorful slides.
- Quiet Relaxation Zones: For children who need a little break from all the action, cozy and shaded nooks are available to unwind and recharge.
The playground is thoughtfully designed with inclusivity in mind, with some barrier-free facilities, ensuring kids of all abilities can participate in the fun!
Playfield 5 – practical info:
- How to get there: Playfield 5 is located within the Kai Tak Sports Park. The park is easily accessible by MTR, bus, or car. It is just a short stroll from the Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi MTR stations (Exit D). Simply walk through the scenic Kai Tak Station Square, and you’ll arrive at Playfield 5 in no time!
- Opening hours: daily from 9:00am – 9:00pm
- Ticketing: Playfield 5 is free and no registration is required!
- Bring a Change of Clothes: With the water play zone being a major highlight, your little ones are bound to get wet. Pack a towel and a change of clothes to keep them dry and comfy afterward.
- Bring sunscreen as there are few shaded areas.
- It can get very busy on weekends, so get there before your timeslot to grab a ticket and maximise playtime.
- Plan your day:
- Time Slot 1: 09:00 – 10:30
- Time Slot 2: 10:45 – 12:15
- Cleaning and Maintenance: 12:15 – 13:45
- Time Slot 3: 13:45 – 15:15
- Time Slot 4: 15:30 – 17:00
- Cleaning and Maintenance: 17:00 – 17:45
- Time Slot 5: 17:45 – 19:15
- Time Slot 6: 19:30 – 21:00
