REGISTRATION AND EXAM DATES: ACT EXAM IN HONG KONG
Registration for the ACT in Hong Kong goes through the official ACT website. For the latest international test dates, click here and here. Deadlines are usually several weeks in advance, with a photo upload required. For local Hong Kong administration info, check HKEAA's ACT page.
To prepare for the Enhanced ACT and Digital SAT, start at least 3-6 months before your test date. Be sure to register early, as deadlines are usually 4-5 weeks before the test. Here are key tips to guide your preparation:

Total time: 2 hours 14 minutes (plus a 10‑minute break between sections).
Fully digital, multi‑stage adaptive format with two modules in each section.
Two sections: Reading & Writing (200–800) and Math (200–800), for a total score of 400–1600. Reading & Writing: 54 questions in 64 minutes, all short passages (25–150 words) with one question each. Math: 44 questions in 70 minutes, mix of multiple‑choice and student‑produced responses; calculator allowed for all questions.
Enhanced ACT (from 2025 onwards)
Core test time (English, Math, Reading only): about 2 hours 5–15 minutes, depending on whether you include short breaks.
Required sections: English, Math, and Reading; Science and Writing are now optional add‑ons.
English: 50 questions in 35 minutes. Math: 45 questions in 50 minutes. Reading: 36 questions in 40 minutes. Optional Science: 40 questions in 40 minutes; optional Writing: one 40‑minute essay.
The composite score is the average of English, Math, and Reading (with optional Science and Writing scored separately), and the test now has fewer questions with more time per question than the old version.
