The Hong Kong Museum of Art is hosting an extraordinary exhibition that brings together some of the most iconic masterpieces from around the world, including Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, one of the most celebrated artworks of our time. The exhibition, exclusively sponsored by the Institute of Philanthropy and supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club, showcases 106 breathtaking paintings and artifacts from prestigious institutions such as The Palace Museum in Beijing, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Palace of Versailles in France.
Centered around the theme of gardens, the exhibition explores their cultural and artistic significance throughout history, from grand imperial landscapes to romantic retreats. Visitors will journey through the lush gardens of Emperor Qianlong of China and King Louis XIV of France, as well as admire the dreamy, nature-inspired works of Monet, Zhang Daqian, and Wen Zhengming.
This exhibition is a captivating blend of East and West, offering a rare opportunity to see masterpieces that celebrate the beauty and serenity of gardens as spaces for reflection, power, and inspiration.
