Standard Chartered Arts In The Park Returns To Hong Kong For 2025

The much-anticipated Standard Chartered Arts in the Park returns this November to mark its 25th anniversary, bringing a weekend of family-friendly fun and artistic celebration. Inspired by Carlo Collodi’s timeless tale, The Adventures of Pinocchio, this year’s event invites visitors to follow the wooden puppet’s journey as he encounters the Sly Fox and Cat, resists the temptations of the Land of Toys, and escapes from the belly of the Terrible Dogfish. Adding to the excitement, the festival will see the return of the Illuminated Night Parade, making its comeback after a seven-year break. Taking place in the Lee Gardens Area, Causeway Bay, this magical procession will transform the streets into a glowing stage, featuring stunning illuminated artworks crafted by talented local artists. It’s a weekend not to be missed!

Since its inception in 2001, Standard Chartered Arts in the Park has grown into Hong Kong’s largest outdoor youth arts festival, welcoming over 1.9 million visitors over the years. This year’s event promises an array of exciting activities, including the Grand Finale Parade, 17 creative arts booths, live storytelling, African drumming workshops, and 60 nonstop performances. Visitors can also admire over 1,000 artworks and snap photos with giant puppets making surprise appearances throughout the festival.

Highlights of the Standard Chartered Arts in the Park 2025

• A Showcase of Local Talent: The festival proudly showcases 100% Hong Kong craftsmanship. In its early years, international experts were invited to train local artists in giant puppet-making and costume design. Today, all the intricate puppets and costumes featured in the parades are created by Hong Kong’s own talented artists, reflecting years of dedication to nurturing local talent.
• The Return of the Illuminated Night Parade: First introduced in 2013, the Illuminated Night Parade has become a festival highlight, featuring glowing puppets and dazzling carnival costumes. This year, the parade returns on Saturday, 29 November, lighting up Causeway Bay with five illuminated giant puppets and eight twinkling costumes. Themed around The Adventures of Pinocchio, the parade will bring beloved characters like Pinocchio, Geppetto, and the Terrible Dogfish to life.
  • Parade Route: Starting at 8:30 PM from Lee Garden One Main Entrance, the parade will wind through Yun Ping Road, Pak Sha Road, Lee Garden Road, Kai Chiu Road, and Hysan Place before looping back.
• Grand Finale Parade: A Carnival Extravaganza: The festivities culminate with the Grand Finale Parade on Sunday, 30 November at 2:30 PM. Featuring 10 towering four-meter-tall puppets and 500 performers—including students from over 100 local schools and professional dancers—it will bring The Adventures of Pinocchio to life as it winds through the lively streets of Causeway Bay. Starting at Victoria Park, the parade travels along Great George Street and past Sogo, creating an unforgettable carnival atmosphere for all.
