Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS), with a 70-year legacy in Indonesia, is dedicated to enriching the educational landscape by actively engaging in initiatives that empower students and educators. One such initiative is the JIS Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (BTI) Scholarship Program, which grants outstanding Indonesian students from local state schools a comprehensive education, covering all associated costs. With 11 scholars since 2018, some have already advanced to international universities. Furthermore, JIS contributes to the Innovative Schools Programme (ISP), partnering with local schools and organizations since 2013 to enhance teaching standards through upskilling educators with innovative practices. Additionally, the Jakarta Principals Shadowing Program offers leadership development for principals from state schools, providing insights into the management of a large international-standard educational institution like JIS. Lastly, JIS hosted a talk show with Nadiem Makarim and Professor David Malan, which was part of a digital skills initiative for Indonesian educators, culminating in a three-day conference at JIS to integrate Harvard's CS50x computer science course into local curriculums. JIS's commitment to these collaborative efforts underscores its ongoing dedication to fostering educational excellence in Indonesia.
