Stunning Grounds And Amenities

It’s hard to put into words just how beautiful this place is—I had to stop myself from snapping endless photos. The air is perfumed with the heavenly scent of frangipani, and the resort’s team of 40 expert gardeners ensures every inch of the property is immaculate. While I’m a self-proclaimed gym enthusiast and did visit their temporary gym (the original is being refurbished), I found myself opting for long strolls through the lush grounds instead. The rhythmic sounds of the Ayung River and the calming embrace of nature made every walk unforgettable.

For relaxation, the spa is a must. Their signature Balinese treatments are rejuvenating and deeply grounding. And if you’re in the mood for a swim, the riverside pool is the perfect spot to soak in the beauty of your surroundings while listening to the river’s calming flow.

The Rooms

From spacious one-bedroom suites in the main building to jaw-droppingly beautiful villas with private pools, there’s something for everyone here. We were fortunate enough to stay in a riverfront one-bedroom villa, and it was a dream! The villa had a rustic charm, complete with a private pool that overlooked the Ayung River. Thoughtful touches for our six-year-old, Ryan, like kids' amenities and a welcome pack, made our stay even more special. The outdoor teepee for bedtime stories was the highlight of his trip.

The Pici Pici Kids Club

If you’re traveling with kids, the Pici Pici Kids Club is a game-changer. They’ve created an actual treehouse! The club is thoughtfully designed with age-appropriate toys and activities for kids aged 4-12, including cultural arts and crafts, cooking classes, pond fish feeding, and more. Best of all, children aged 4 and above can attend the club unaccompanied, allowing parents to enjoy some guilt-free downtime.

For families with younger children or babies, the resort offers babysitting services for a fee, so even the youngest travelers are well taken care of. The Pici Pici attendants are phenomenal, engaging with the little ones so meaningfully that we felt completely comfortable leaving Ryan to enjoy his adventures while we indulged in some relaxation.

Experiences For The Whole Family

The resort offers a wide range of experiences tailored to all ages and interests. One of the standout moments of our trip was a luxurious picnic in the resort’s rice fields, where we enjoyed freshly-prepared Balinese cuisine by Chef Ong.

Another unmissable adventure was river rafting, suitable for ages 5 and above, along the Ayung River. The hotel arranges everything for you, including a short 30-minute drive to the departure point. The rafting itself is about an hour of fun, adventure, and incredible scenery, with the final stop being the hotel itself—talk about a grand entrance! Pro tip: If you’re staying at the Four Seasons in Jimbaran beforehand, you can raft directly to Sayan, avoiding traffic and making the journey an unforgettable experience in itself.

Dining & Restaurants

The resort is home to two phenomenal restaurants. Riverside, as the name suggests, offers Mediterranean cuisine in a gorgeous riverside setting. Ayung Terrace, on the other hand, specializes in Indonesian cuisine with sweeping views of the jungle. This is also where breakfast is served, and it’s worth waking up early for. Be sure to try their pandan creations—the pandan croissants quickly became Ryan’s go-to breakfast staple (and ours too!).

Families will also love the dining experience here, as all restaurants feature dedicated kids’ menus. Of course, children are more than welcome to order from the regular menu as well, with a fantastic perk: kids only pay half price for regular menu items! This thoughtful touch made dining even more enjoyable for the whole family.

Overall Experience At Four Seasons Resort Bali At Sayan

As with all Four Seasons properties, the hospitality here is unmatched. The staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is special—they even remembered Ryan’s love for pandan croissants and served them daily without us having to ask.

If you’re seeking a luxurious, immersive experience in the heart of Ubud, this is it. While the town center is nearby, I doubt you’ll find much reason to leave the resort’s enchanting surroundings. It’s a place that stays with you long after you’ve left, and we can’t wait to return.
