Calling all brave young music fans! Emily, a clever 10-yeaar-old needs your help to defeat the evil monster, Cacopholous, who threatens the world with darkness and noise. Will the beautiful sounds of Beethoven, Rossini and Tchaikovsky be enough to destroy him? In this mesmerizing children’s concert, drama, dance, dazzling masks and costumes are woven together with orchestral music in a story about bravery and hope. Audiences laugh, chant and sing while discovering musical concepts and urging Emily onward to defeat the horrible beast Cacopholous. As Emily is swept up in the beauty of music from some of the world’s greatest composers, the monster threatens to bring only darkness and noise. Emily must summon all of her courage and work with her friends both onstage and in the audience to triumph against his evil tyranny.
Described as “a visually stunning production” and “beautiful on the deepest level”, audiences and orchestras across the globe have fallen in love with the Emily Saves the Orchestra touring children’s concert. The fully staged production features 13 excerpts from some of history’s most beloved pieces, including Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, The Nutcracker and The William Tell Overture. With a running length of 55 minutes, Emily Saves the Orchestra is a delight for parents, teachers and children aged four and older. This popular children’s concert is an excellent addition to any family concert series or education program.
