AIS Indonesia is a multi-campus school offering Australian standard education in Jakarta, Bali and Balikpapan. With over 800 students, the four well-resourced campuses offer Preschool to Year 12 classes with specialist support for students with learning difficulties, limited English language proficiency or physical disabilities.
CURRICULUM: Based on the Australian Curriculum and best teaching practice, the AIS academic program is designed to form a solid foundation from which young people may reach their potential and enter the world as confident and compassionate global citizens.
PRIMARY SCHOOL: Traditional subject areas such as English and Mathematics are high priority learning areas. The subject areas of History, Science and Geography are taught as Units of Inquiry.
SECONDARY SCHOOL: In Years 7 to 10, the Secondary curriculum is based on both the new Australian Curriculum and AustVELS (Victorian Curriculum). In Years 11 and 12, senior students study courses accredited by the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS) and the resulting certification is widely recognized. Our students can access universities in Australia by either sitting the Australian Scaling Test (AST) in September, which contributes to an Australian Tertiary Entrance Ranking (ATAR) or by direct application relying on individual merit.
EXTRA CURRICULAR: AIS offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. For budding swimmers they offer the AIS Swim Program and the AIS Nippers Program for young swimmers.
FOR THE PARENTS: All campuses also offer a strong Parents & Friends group, helping to support newcomers and old timers to the school.
